Axel (Corps Security, #1) - Harper Sloan Look out world, new author, Harper Sloan, has arrived and she is going to be sitting fire to kindles everywhere...you have been warned.

image

Once upon a time, I caught wind of this new man floating around, the more it was discussed the more excited I became to meet him. Then one day, just being curious I asked the author if she had a...muse for him, I was just too excited and wanted a face to match him with. I ended up getting to help out find the face and after that I have been patiently sitting and waiting, well sort of. Haha, I'm not even going to lie, I have no patience, but you know, there's only so much you can do until a book is released so I've been waiting and reading every excerpt given with great anticipation.

image

Then I was offered an ARC, yes, I got a little carried away but my excitement just was out of control. Then I read the book and WOW, I was no where near as prepared for the awesomeness of Axel...., let me explain.

To start everything off, the Prologue alone in this story was amazing. I feel sorta guilty saying that seeing as what was going down in it, but holy crap, it pulls you in and makes you feel like you're there living the nightmare with Izzy. You see Izzy has had a pretty rough time the last few years. Every since she lost him, her life continuously has been going down the drain, but this situation with Brandon takes the cake. Finally, getting away from him she starts living again.

image

Of course, she still has triggers that make her have bad days. Greg and Dee the most awesome best friends ever, and even though I am definitely in love with Axel, I will admit I have a serious crush on some of the other guys as well. Greg being one of them. Anyhow, sorry, lol, I got sidetracked there, it just so happens that while having one of her bad days, would be the day that Axel comes barreling back into her life. I can't say anymore, I don't want to spoil ANYTHING, but damn this book was so good!! I just could go on and on.

image

"Never again, Izzy West. I will never again let anyone take you from me, or anything from us."

image

Axel was pure alpha male perfection. I'm not even kidding. He was strong, protective, and holy cow he said some of the most sexy, dirty things. Good Lord if that man was mine, we would starve to death because there is no way my ass would ever be leaving that bed if he was in it, hahaa. And Izzy, oh wow, she had lived through so much. I felt so sorry for her and just wanted to give her a hug. Yet, she still had life in her enough to come back from that and be this awesome chick who sits in restaurants and jokes around with guys about sex and takes on people just to prove her point. The sex talk thing, btw totally cracked me up, me and my bff have done the same thing before numerous times and it always seems to be a hilarious conversation. She's brave, sexy, confident, and totally comfortable with who she it.

image

This book had a heartbreaking storyline that hooked me from the beginning, fantastic characters of all kinds, scorching hot sex scenes that had me melting, and a beautiful happily ever after.

"I know you felt it baby. No way had something that f@cking powerful skipped your attention. Hear me now, and understand me, we will talk but nothing you can say will change the fact that you and me are happening. i won't let you go Izzy. Never. You're mine, you got that, princess?"

"I always have been yours, you know that don't you?"

image

Don't add this book to your To Be Read shelf, read it now. There is absolutely nothing, I repeat NOTHING, about this book that you will regret. I don't know what Harper Sloan has been doing before she decided to write this book, but it is evident she has found her calling, and I see a bright future for her being an author, and I know I'm on the bandwagon to cheer her on!!! :D

image

Arc provided by Harper Sloan for an honest review.

Of course this is my response for when I got my ARC. :)
I got an ARC, I got an ARC!!! I'm so freaking stoked!!! WHOOP WHOOP!!!

This Man Confessed (This Man, #3) - Jodi Ellen Malpas Holy freaking cow!! What an amazing ending to a fan-freaking-tastic series!!! I don't think I can be in love with Jesse any more than I am right now!!! AH-mazing!! I just finished and I'm already having withdrawals. I love Jesse and Ava and am so sad the trilogy is over.

image

The third, and sadly last book in this series picks up right after Beneath This Man ends. Ava has agreed to marry her Lord, and Jesse being his neurotic self he needs this to happen sooner rather than later. So everything is put together quick and a beautiful ceremony takes place at, you guessed it, The Manor.

image

"You've taken me completely, baby. you've swallowed me up and drowned me in you beauty and spirit. You know I can't function without you. You've made my life as beautiful as you are. You've made me want to live a worthy existence-a life with you. All I need is you-to look at you; listen to you; to feel you. To love you. I need you to let me do all of these things, Ava. I need you to let me look after you forever."

I can't say the whole day goes without a hitch, but that's about all the spoiler I'll give away for the day except, Jesse does a little jig on the dance floor. Admit it, every time Jesse dances some JT you totally get this in your head right?!?! :)

image
image

As you gathered over the last two books, Ava keeps "losing" her birth control pills. I hope I'm not spoiling anything here, but it was sorta obvious that wasn't the case. This just ends up being obstacle one for Ava and Jesse. It was so hard for me to read parts of this, but I did understand the confusing situation. I almost feel like if I tell much more of this I could be spoiling so I think I will opt out, haha.

image

So, I'll just give you a hint of all of the excitement...car chases, scorned lovers, crazy deliveries from unknown people, of course, Jesse and Ava seem to get in their own way, break ins, admirers that go too far, meddling families, and so many confessions it will make your head spin but at the same time will make everything come together and explain Jesse so much better. And even one episode of Jesse running out of peanut butter, GASP, lol!! Don't kid, this is a serious thing for Jesse.

image

"Do you feel that? It was made to love you, Ava. For too long it was useless, redundant, not required. Now it's gone into overdrive. It swells with happiness when I look at you. It splinters with pain when we fight. And it beats wildly when I make love to you. maybe I go overboard with my love, but that's never to to change. I'll love you this fiercely until the day I die, baby. ~~I'll never stop loving you hard. It'll only get harder because every day that passes we create more memories. My mind is being filled with beautiful images of us, and they are replacing a history that lingers. They're chasing away my past, Ava.

image

Like I keep raving about, this series was amazing!! I see an opportunity for maybe a spin off with Dan?? Maybe Sam and Kate?? Or even Drew?? I honestly think Dan is the best bet out of these though.

image

Jesse and Ava still had scorching chemistry. Jesse and his sexy mouth can be just plain swoon worthy. The one thing I found hilarious was how he didn't want Ava swearing but he would turn right back around and swear right back at her while getting on to her. I love how Ava tried to keep her independence from him, but at the same time some of it was just childish on both ends, lol. I guess that's just them being crazy in love, they actually drove each other crazy, lol!!

image

Obviously don't read this book if you haven't read the other two first, but if you love over the top crazy possessive alpha men with dark pasts who fall in love with a woman who tries them at every turn even though she's madly in love with him and fight multiple obstacles together, this is totally the series for you. There was drama at every turn, either from Jesse's past or from Jesse and Ava themselves. It takes some time, but eventually they figure everything out and are determined that as long as they are together they can conquer anything/everything. Even if Jesse has to pay someone off, beat someone down, or come up with some kind of F@ck to make it right, he'll trample anyone who tries to come between them and will do it wherever, whenever and to whoever he feels it necessary and I love him all the more for it!!

image

"I want everything in the world with you, baby, and I want it all yesterday."

From before it was released, lol....

image

I NEED THIS BOOK NOW, YESTERDAY EVEN, Why oh Why must I wait for this. I suppose I'll take a chill pill and hang her in the swings with this coo dude until then....

When He Was Bad - Cynthia Eden, Shelly Laurenston This book contained two short stories combined into one book by two different authors. The first in the book was a somewhat continuation of the Magnus Pack series. It was actually like a prequel, as it went back to the 80's and told how Doctor Conridge and Niles Van Holtz met. I loved Van Holtz. He was charming, sexy, and determined. The good Dr. was just okay for me. She seemed a little Miki-ish, but where I really liked Miki, Conridge lacked in.....personality,....ummm, maybe more social skills... I don't know. I give her credit she was a quirky character but I just found myself struggling to connect with her as much. However, the story was interesting enough but was just so short I felt like when I was really starting to get into it, it ended.

The second story was about shifters vs vampires. I actually really liked this story. Miranda goes out on a date with a man she had been chatting with online for a while, but when she gets home he attacks her and bites her neck. Luckily for Miranda her new neighbor next door has exceptional hearing and hears her scream. Once the vamp gets loose, Cain insists Miranda stays with him for protection. Miranda had never known about the supernaturals wondering around so at first she's in denial, but finally she comes to terms with it. Cain had planned to get to know the beautiful new neighbor but now that he has her under his protection him, and the animal in him are both struggling wanting to make her his now. He just has to catch this Vampire first. I was surprised how much I really like this story. Cain was smoking hot. A jaguar shifter,...yum!! Who knew? Of course, the story was way short and just like the first one, I felt like I was just getting into it and it ended.
Here Kitty, Kitty! - Shelly Laurenston I have a new book obsession and it is tiger shifters!! Dang this book was good.

image

Technically this was the last in the series, except for two short stories that really aren't part of the Magnus Pack, it starts right where the last left off only with Angie instead. A week after meeting the hot guy in the airport and having his brothers come in her store every day, she's attacked leaving and then wakes up in a unknown room with a tiger in it. Turns out his brothers have kidnapped her and brought her to their hot brothers house. Angie and Nic don't exactly get along at first, ha who am I kidding, with everything between toliet lids and baseballs being used as weapons and a shotgun shot through a door, Angie made her presence known but before long Nic and Angie can't fight the pull they have toward each other any longer.

"This was not some big kitty she could lead around by his cock. This one was a big, mean, woman-eating tiger. And she'd do well to keep her legs closed and her body off-limits."

image

"And, Sugar, if you're gonna sit out on that balcony at night, half naked, smellin' so sweet and sighing like you just had the best f@ck of your life, then you might as well put a leash around my neck and call me yours."

Things get pretty heated after hardly anytime, but things seem to keep interrupting them. For one Nic, he knows he wants it different with her, but Angie makes that a little hard to remember. Both are convinced it will be just a fling but the more time they spend together both start to wonder if they will be able to let the other go.

image

This book was amazing. I've always had a thing for shifter books, but as far as I can remember I've only ever read wolf shifters. Let me just say this Tiger was scorching hot. Something about the way he stretched all around like a cat on everything and jumped up to her balcony, just really did it for me. These two were scorching hot together. Of course, all of the hilarious girls were back and did not disappoint. I laughed so hard at several parts of the book. The only reason I gave this one 4 instead of 5 stars was at the end it left me wanting a little bit more. Not that it didn't tie up well, because it did, I just wish the epilogue would have included a little more than it did. Not a big deal, because I tend to want more from books all the time, so it's probably more me than anything else. I loved this series, it's characters, and everything that went along with it. :)

Sara smiled. "You always had the best right hook."

"Remember that boxer I dated...he taught me that...and not to use my teeth during blow jobs."

Miki locked her gun, shoving it back in its holster, "Well that was information I could have lasted a lifetime never knowing."
The Tycoon's Secret (Baby for the Billionare, #4) - Melody Anne So, I've been lacking on my reviews and have three to catch up on so they may all be short and sweet today! :)

I started reading this series a while back and then got distracted and forgot to go back and finish it. When I was going through my list recently I saw the next one and made it my mission to go ahead and finish it out. With that being said, with the ending of this one, I'm really curious about the Anderson families series now too.

image

HAHA, see I'm getting distracted, now about this book. I liked this book, but I can't say that I loved it. It seemed like it was an up and down hill ride for me. In the beginning I was very intrigued. Sierra's dad has been abusing her for her entire life. She's basically broken and has given up for the most part to expecting an outside life. Everything she's ever had he's taken away including a boyfriend which he allowed his other daughter to turn around and marry. He kept her from having anything, but in turn gave her sister everything and never abused the sister. He took out all of his anger with the girls mother on her. Her father makes a deal with Damien, selling her to him for the cover of it looking like a job, but when Damien makes it look like it could be for a mistress, her father acts like he doesn't care. At this point I was hanging on every word, just waiting to see what would happen next. There was so much sexual frustration between the two I was begging for the deed to finally happen, but here's where everything took its first plunge for me. It took forever for the two to even have a conversation, much less do the deed. So, I got a little bored and almost skipped some pages, but was too afraid I would miss something.

image

SO, without giving away spoilers away, the two end up doing the deed and having an awesome week together. For me, it picked up again here, but was sorta rushed. I wanted to see them fall for each other and get that lovey feeling in my heart so that when the whole thing falls apart, like it does in most books I feel it, ya know?? I didn't and for me that was another low in the book, but when he came back to talk to her and they finally cleared the air about all that was happening, I was hooked again. However, disappointed with some of it.

image

Damien's life long mission was revenge. Sierra had started out being a way to get to who he wanted to get his revenge on. When she found out about all of this, instead of being hurt or damn, traumatized, like I would have been she just feel back in bed with him. I mean come on, he spilled all of his terrible secrets on her and even accused her of being a spoiled brat and she jumps his bones. I'm sorry what?!?! I can't tell much more because I would be letting some spoilers out I feel, but it mostly was just an up and down read for me. To me, some things that should have had a big conversation never got recognition, like him buying her from her dad, it got one sentence, saying that he had told her everything and she was freaked out by it at first but then was okay with it. ummm, I thought that was really important and as the reader we should have been allowed on that conversation, lol. Also in the end it never told what happened to her dad. I don't know, just maybe I'm picking it a part and I'm not one to do that by far, but there were just a lot I wanted more from the book.

image

Damien had his sexy moments and then he had his less than stellar ones too. I can't say that I loved every decision Sierra made either, but this was her first time living out from under anyone's command and was loving making her own decisions even if they were wrong.

image

IMO, which I know doesn't amount to much, but I think the story had real potential, really. It just wasn't all it could be to me. I don't want to turn anyone away from reading this book or series, because they really are good storylines, and Derek and Drew's stories are definitely worth the read. (The first and second books in the series.) Maybe the last two just needed some editing??? *shrugs*
Go Fetch! - Shelly Laurenston Have I mentioned lately that I love me a good shifter story?? Well, I do, absolutely adore them actually, but a shifter story with a girl that has sarcasm and wit and who can defend herself plus add in some sheet scorching sex, I'm on that so fast, I'll make some peoples head spin, lol. This was that book!! :)

image

Go Fetch picks up right after the last book for a short time then jumps ahead 6 months. Miki and Conell can't get each other off their minds. To the point they are giving themselves hand jobs in their sleep. Yes, you read that right. They make each other absolutely insane. Miki hasn't been to California to see Sara once because she is avoiding Conell. But avoiding isn't an option any longer and the first day there the attraction becomes almost unbearable for both of them. Conell keeps smelling something, something he can't identify but yet has smelled before. When someone attacks Miki right outside the Pack's club and that same smell is on her, he then knows he will protect her no matter what.

image

Miki has to go back to Seattle for her dissertation. That's when all the fun starts. Conell follows her to protect her against her will. With all sorts of shifters coming around, hot sex on most every location of a hotel room, including one really hot pop ice scene and plenty of action this book was fantastic. Miki and her friends were the same irrestible charming selves with over the top sarcasm and plenty of hilarious dirty talk. Conell was a major alpha Viking shifter, ummm...enough said, that alone should sell you on the book. But if not, here are some funny quotes that will definitely make you want to read it, lol.

"I hate both of you."

"Now. Now. Angie and I only want you to be safe. You're not on any birth control. Sometimes people get lost in the moment. Angie did it with the best of intentions. We care about you and want you to be happy."

"F@ck her. F2ck you. And, for that matter, f@ck your intentions."

"See. Those are the tense cuss words of a woman who needs to get laid."

So freaking funny,....here's one more....

image

"You don't have any school plans tomorrow, do you?"

"No. Why?"

"Just wondering what would happen if we kept this going for the next four or five hours.

"I don't sleep, Viking. Not really. So it wouldn't matter to me." he licked her neck. Nipped her earlobe. And she kept riding him.

"You just need somebody to wear you out."

"Yeah. Good luck with that."

"The gauntlet's been laid. I accept your challenge."

"No. No. Now let's be rational about this."

"Dogs aren't rational, baby. We're dogs. We just want a job. And I just found mine..."

Don't worry, there are plenty more conversations like this to enjoy!! Just give it a try, you won't be disappointed. Definitely can't wait for more from the series....

"Just one thing. No matter where we are. No matter where we go. Or where we end up. That you always...and I mean always, Miki Kendrick...make sure our freezer has cherry ice pops."
Amazingly Broken - Jordin Williams People don't read this...It's Plagiarism. I had been really excited to read this one, it sounded good. Once I found out about the Plagiarism, I simply took it off my TBR list, but after I did that I felt like I should have kept it and put some sort of review to let others know what was going on. I found out today from the awesome Sharon is an emotional junkie, that the book had been put back up and the original was hard to find and all of everyone's links about the plagiarism had been taken down. SO, I decided to re-add both editions and put the same review on both including the links about the Plagiarism. I normally wouldn't do this sort of thing, but I would hate for people to be out there not knowing what had happened and buy this. So,....here's the links...

The Tycoon's Vacation - Melody Anne I had started this series a while back and got distracted with something else and ended up forgetting to go back and finish. The first book was pretty good, but I liked this one even more.

image

Drew was the cocky cousin of Derek's from the first bank. When Derek refound his high school sweetheart after a major miscommunication and then found out that she had had a son, he figured out that he only thought he had had everything he ever wanted. Now, with his wife, son and a beautiful new daughter he realizes he had been clueless about what he needed after all. Derek is telling Drew all this and making Drew have thoughts he didn't need rummaging around in his head. Therefore decides to take off on a vacation at one of his resorts so he can set everything back to normal. Have a vacation, maybe a fling with a beautiful woman, and get his head back on straight. He never dreams he will flat out run right into his own version of a train wreck that will turn his whole life upside down.

image

Trinity is doing the one thing she has never done in her whole life. Living in the moment and even being a little reckless. After she decided she was ready to sleep with her boyfriend of sex months she walks in to surprise him only to be surprised herself. She drains her accounts and heads for her first ever vacation. While taking a mind cleansing swim someone runs her over with their surf board and knocks her out. When she wakes up the hottest man she has ever seen is waiting with her in her room.

image

Drew, for once, just wants to be with a woman and not see greed in her eyes. He just wants to have a nice vacation with a beautiful woman. But as time goes by, and he and Trinity get closer and closer, he knows eventually he is going to have to tell her. Of course as always, his plans crash and burn and she finds out from someone else and gets pissed and leaves.

Months later, Trinity is just trying to make ends meet. If it wasn't for her best friend she doesn't know what she would do. Drew tried to call a few months back but she just didn't want to talk to him. She know eventually though she'll have to. She's over the moon excited to be a mommy and feels like even if she told Drew he wouldn't want anything to do with the baby, so why tell him,...right?? Until one night she comes home and there he is, waiting for her. And guess what, he wants his baby, and more than that he wants Trinity too, and will stop at nothing to have them. Especially after he saw the ultrasound of his baby Trinity had left laying on her table. He's decided the fight is on and he will be the victor.

image

I think, this is the first book I've read like this. I really really enjoyed it!! Trinity was so tired of being lied to by men that she completely goes to the extreme when she finds out Drew had fibbed to her. Even after he came back and explained it, she wouldn't let it go. I get why she was mad, really, but come on chick, this guy came back and was over the moon excited about having a baby with you and she fought him on it until the very end. It sorta made her annoying, but I guess I got where she was coming from. Drew on the other hand, was amazing to me. He went from not even wanting a relationship with a woman to groveling at one's feet begging her to marry him, and taking care of her at every turn. He was like every pregnant woman's dream man. He brought her breakfast and lunch and dinner. Wanted to take care of all the dr bills, would massage away all the aches and pains, and even more, but hey, I don't want to give everything away. I sorta felt sorry for him, because it took a while for the chick to give him anything to work with. I can't wait to read more from these wrong side of the tracks grown into billionaire playboys that then turn into prince charmings, lol. They are great.
Undeclared (Woodlands, #1) - Jen Frederick "Do you think magnetic polarity can be reversed?"

"Magnets can be reversed. But, for some, their attraction is so strong that they can't be kept apart."

image

No, this book wasn't really like the Dear John, I mean it had some similarities but it wasn't exactly the same. But I have to admit in the very beginning it had the most similarities and it reminded me of these characters and after that they just stuck in my head. SO, I went with it....

Grace Sullivan was required her freshman year in high school to write a letter to a Marine in Afganistan. After that first letter, Noah and Grace exchanged letters back and forth every month for four years. They had confided in each other about things they had never told anyone else ever making them extremely close. But when Grace wrote Noah they should meet when he got out he sent her a Dear John letter telling her that he didn't think that was the best idea and that he really only looked at her in a brotherly way. Two years have passed and Grace is still thinking about Noah. She had been heart broken by his denial and still not completely over it even thinking she may one day run into him at college, no matter how far fetched that may seem.

"You had a chance. You had two years of chances. i don't know why you're here, but it has nothing to do with me."

"It has everything to do with you."

Noah knows that winning Grace back probably won't be a very easy feat, but after writing her that letter two years ago he has thought of nothing but making something out of his self, saving money, and getting into Central college so he can meet Grace and win her heart. He's been here a while but still hasn't got up the nerve to actually come face to face with her but knows where she lives, what classes she taking, and actually her whole schedule all together. When he finally gets up the nerve, Grace is caught by surprise and turns and bolts. Not the exact response he was wanting but he knew after the letter she probably wouldn't be as accepting of him at first. He's willing to fight now harder than ever for what he wants.

image

"I missed you, Grace. More than you will ever know."

I really think I could go on and on about this book but this is a basic summary of it. It was a really good read. I would sort of describe it as Dear John meets Beautiful Disaster. What I mean is after the letter writing situation it sorta turns all about Noah working on his fighting career while Grace is working out her photography career. They went to a underground fight that really reminded me of Travis and maybe that's where I get that description.

"I'll take care of you."

"I know you will. I trust you."

"You won't regret that."

I loved Noah. He knew what he wanted and went for it guns blazing. Even when he wanted more but Grace kept telling him they could only ever be friends he wasn't deterred and even went on a "double date" with her so he could help her out as friends. Such a sweet guy. Grace was fairly likeable. Toward the end when she pulled her little stunt I will say I really wanted to slap some sense into her. Her insecurities got the best of her and she needed to take a look at what Noah had done to be with her.

I'll admit, there were a few slow parts for me. But, I can't wait for the next book it's supposed to be out in September and it is Bo's. I'm always a sucker for a book about a man-whore who falls in love. :)

Pack Challenge (Magnus Pack, #1) - Shelly Laurenston ”You belong to me, but I belong to you. Even before you marked me, I belonged to you… as much as it annoys the shit out of me.”

Okay, I give in...I'm a sucker for a shifter story. I love the whole dynamic of the mate for life thing, there's almost always a great storyline, and most importantly they are always hotter than hell. That whole claiming thing...gets me every time. This story was no different.

This story starts out with Sara, drunk in a bar, stirring up her normal amount of "Drunk-Sara" trouble. Little does she know she's playing a very dangerous game that night. If it wouldn't have been for her "pretty boy" rescuer and her crazy friends she could have been in a whole lot more trouble than making out in an alley with a stranger.

"You're to picky. Because I remember a few interested individuals that weren't too bad. Troy."
"Too strict."
"Fred"
"Too Neat."
"Bobby Joe."
"Too Tall."
"Mike."
"Too short."
"Wait. There's still my personal favorite. Kenny Ray."
"Too Nice in bed."
"I bet Zach's not nice at all. In bed or out."

Zach has sworn no women will ever make him weak or hold him down. He has plans for his life and he's not about to let the love for a woman get in the way of them. But every since he was groped and kissed by the sassy little drunk girl at the bar he can't stop thinking about her. However, he has one mission, protect the girl, turn her and go on about his life. But something has changed and changes even more the night he watches her howling with the wolves on her front porch.

image

After being invited to a party by the new bikers in town, Zach is apart of, Sara and her friends are a little hesitant to go but decide it's something they have to see. Once there, they end up having a really good time until Sara is talking with Zach and becomes in unbearable pain. He rushes her away and tries a little "experiment" on her to see if it will help her. What happens next is a surprise to everyone.

image

Sara has no idea that she's a shifter and it's up to someone to tell her, however she ends up finding out without being told. I expected her to freak out a little more than she did, but she took the news quiet well. Of course, finding out she's a shifter is the least of Sara's problems at the moment. Turns out others are after as well and unlike Zach's Pack, the others want her dead.

image

"I've found that it's never the animals you have to worry about, Miki, It's the humans."

"I'll remember that when we find your torn, headless carcass."

This book was awesome! Yes, the first night I read it I passed out at 9%, but that is only because I was dosed up with Benadryl. Once I started today, I could not stop reading. The characters were amazing. OMG, Sara, Angelina and Miki said the funniest things to each other. I loved Sara's sassy attitude and how her girls knew one another and always had each others back and could second guess what they would do next. The chemistry between Zach and Sara was scorching hot. And that claiming scene,...wowza!! Did I mention I love when these shifters do their claiming, ahaha. If I was going to complain about anything, it would be that it was too short and left me wanting more in the end. Lucky for me, there are two more stories in the series so that should make me feel better, but they aren't about Sara and Zach and I felt like I barely got to know Sara and Zach and then the story was over. I still recommend, especially if you like shifters and paranormals. :)
Mine to Take - Cynthia Eden "Having too much faith in the wrong man could be dangerous>"

I'm going to start off by saying, I love a book that starts out with a warning label in the blurb.

MINE TO TAKE is intended for adults. Sexy situations and adult language will be found within the pages of this story—please consider yourself warned.

haha, You've be warned...This book was so good. Yes, it's a short story. Short stories typically leave me wanting more, always more with me, haha, and don't get me wrong, I would have loved more for this one, but everything tied together really well. I never felt like it was too rushed or anything either. I have to make this brief because I don't want to give anything away, and believe me there are things that could ruin the whole thing.

Skye was driving home one night when she has a car accident. She sits in her wrecked car trapped waiting for someone to help her. Finally someone comes, nope, I'm not telling who, that 's one of those spoilers I can't give. Time passes and she is left with that horrible memory, not only mentally but physically. That accident ruined her dancing career. But that's the least of her problems, someone is following her and also breaking into her apartment leaving hints that they have been there. When she finally has had enough, and is terrified she runs to the one person she knows can help her with the stalker, but may be dangerous to her in a whole other way.

image
(Btw, this hottie courtesy of Allison, the second I saw him he reminded me of Trace and she was awesome and let me borrow him for my review!! Thanks Allison!!)

Trace couldn't believe his eyes when he looked up and saw that Skye was in his building. He has been waiting for this chance with her for ten long years. And now that she needs his help, he won't be letting her go again. He has secrets, secrets that he's not ready for her to know yet, but it may not be up to him when she finds out everything. It doesn't matter though, she's back and will be staying no matter what he just has to get rid of this stalker first.

"When you walked into my office a few days ago...I was so damn stunned. It was all I could to not to run and grab you, to hold you tight." And never let go.

Like I said this book was the exact thing I love to read. Romance, confident alpha male, scorching sex and chemistry, mystery, danger, yep I thrive on this stuff. I suspected everyone was guilty while I was reading this. And when I say everyone, I mean that literally. There were huge twists and turns that had me saying...

image

I wish there was more only because I was so twisted up in this story it was over too soon. I highly recommend this, perfect length to fit in between longer reads and it will have you on the edge of your seat the whole time.
Tangled - Emma Chase
"Women fall in love quicker than men. Easier and more often. But when guys fall? We go down harder. And when things go bad? When it's not us who ends it? We don't get to walk away. We crawl."

I don't even know where to start with this review. No worries, I completely 100% freaking loved it. I just have so much to say about it, I don't even know where to begin and truth is I could go on and on, my whole book was practically highlighted, but I'll try not to give anything away or quote to much.

Meet Drew
image

"I...when I first saw you that day in the conference room, it knocked me right on my ass. After that, I just knew nothing would ever be the same."

Poor thing, he has the influenza. Well, not really, he's making up excuses for himself, like most men who don't want to admit what's really going on when there egos have been bruised. Truth is his heart has been broken. Which is a shocker seeing as how he's a one-night stand only kind of guy.

image

"See that guy-black suit, devilishly handsome? Yeah, that guy getting the blow job from the luscious redhead in the bathroom stall? That's me. The real me. MBF: Me Before the Flu."

Yeah, he's kind of a jerkwad. Sure he's hotter than is legal, but he knows it and owns it, too. He's pretty much a man-whore. A very sexy man-whore. His family has kind of spoiled him all of his life, he has lots of money, a good job that he's really good at, and not used to being denied what he wants. Remember that, when you read this book, it's sorta a big deal.

"Here's a fact for you-once I'm done, I'm done. I'm not the kind of guy who rides the same roller coaster twice. One is enough, and then the thrill is gone and so is the interest."

See, kind of a jerkwad. Yes, he's talking about women here, not actual roller coaster rides. But like I said one night stand only kind of guy. That's until he meets Katherine Brooks. OH NO, we aren't talking about love at first sight here. I mean Drew was definitely interested in Katherine for one night of horizontal fun, but Katherine is engaged and surprisingly doesn't give into his charms. Of course Drew being a typical guy, he finds not only one girl to replace her for the night, but red headed twins on top of that. Every man's dream, I'm sure. Funny thing is later on he can't get the hot chick in the red dress who turned him down out of his head. Men and their ego's...smh. Little does he know Drew hasn't seen the last of Kate Brooks.

Kate Brooks
image

"Well, that first night at REM, I thought you were...lethal. You just radiated sex and charm. That smile, your eyes, they really should be illegal. It was the only time in all my years that I wished I was single."

image

This book was hilarious!! I was giggling so hard at parts I was afraid of who I would wake up in the middle of the night. It's all in Drew's POV and the things he thought and said were just... priceless. I loved the author's quirky writing. Once Drew finds out he will be working with Kate, it's his mission to get her underneath him on his virginal couch, and then get on with his ho-dog ways.

"So, I have three options: I can quit. I could get Kate to quit. Or I can entice her to share one profoundly pleasurable night with me. Get it out of both of our systems-consequences be damned."

Problem is Kate is engaged and highly motivated to do go at her job. Drew is relentless in thinking of ways to warm Kate up to him, until they are forced to work together and even though he still wants to have sex with her, work trumps sex everytime. LOL, Drew's words not mine. After time, Drew and Kate start getting closer and closer. Working long hours together can do that, but I can't say anymore because then I might slip in some important spoilers and I would not want to spoil this crazy funny story. :)

image

Drew changes completely when Kate comes into his life. He is so used to be the guy women are chasing all the time, he isn't for sure how to be the one doing the chasing. At one point, the things he did were so over the top.

"Love makes you do some stupid shit."

These two were all over the place. Co-workers, to enemies, to alliances, to yelling at each other one minute and then sticking there tongues down each others throats the next, to friends, lovers, and even breaking each other's hearts. Once Kate and Drew finally did get together, they were smoking. The chemistry was off the charts. As much as Drew probably deserved everything he got, I couldn't help but feel sorry for him, when he "got the flu". Poor guy, it wasn't like he had any experience with dealing with the feelings he had. He just acted on impulse which is what gets lots of us in trouble most of the time. And of course miscommunication.

"You are driving me crazy!"
"Crazy? Like you want to rip my shirt open again?"
"NO. Crazy like the itch of a yeast infection that just won't go away."

image

I just have to put in Drew with his niece, Mackenzie, was adorable. I can't imagine how he would be with his own kid. hint hint, could this be where the series is going?? If not, I'm curious about who's story would be next...Micheal and Delores Clitoris (if you read the book you'll get it, haha) or maybe Jack, I could see him being just like Drew MBF. These guys were awesome secondary characters and the things they said...OMG, ROFL!! Especially Mackenzie...

" I have a bagina."
Drew smirks. "Yes, you do sweetheart. And someday, it's gonna help you rule the world."
"Johnny Fitzgerald has a penis. He says his penis is better than my bagina."
"Johnny Fitzgerald's an idiot. Vaginas beat penises every time. They're like kryptonite. Penises are defenseless against them."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"She talks like you. It's not every day you hear a four year old say Prince Charming is a douchebag who's only holding Cinderella back."
image
Overall, I know this review was loaded with quotes, and believe it or not, there are so many more amazingly funny ones. This book had the romance, the sexual frustration, the great characters, and the happily ever after. i can't wait for more from this author and series. Read this book, you won't regret it and will laugh your ass off.
Untitled (Maddox Brothers, #1) - Jamie McGuire image
Hell to tha yeah!! More from Jamie McGuire and the Maddox family!!! Something to definitely party about!!! :)
Well, since I'm here alone, it was probably more like this...
image
But in my head we all got together for the party up above!!!! :)
Breathe Me In  (Ross Siblings, #2.5) - Cherrie Lynn Loved this!! The only thing I would say against it, is I wish this would have been released prior to Ghost and Macy's story. With that said, it left me wanting to read their story all over again.
Better Review to come...
Beautiful Broken Rules - Kimberly Lauren image
Oh how I loved this book!! It had been on my short list for a while but I just kept letting other things get in front of it. Wow, it was amazing!!
Meet Emerson
image
"Your voice is a little like cocaine. You could bottle that stuff up and sell it. Can I pay you just to talk to me all day?"
She's the self proclaimed school slut. No seriously, that's the way she refers to herself. She admits openly she likes guys and sex and doesn't mind being known for it. The thing is there's things that happened in her past that makes her avoid relationships at all costs. So she made up a set of rules to protect herself.
1)Never sleep with someone that a friend has feelings for.
2)Never sleep with someone who is in a known relationship.
3)Never sleep with someone more than three times.
Everything was working out fine in her life with these rules until the morning she met Jaxon Riley.
image
"You have to stop worrying that you'll lose me. There's nowhere else in this world that I want to be. I love you, beautiful girl."
At first glance she notices how gorgeous he is. But then when she finds out he's the guy that is going to be moving in next door with her best friend. They start out as quick friends but over time start growing closer and closer. She knows she wants him and that it will eventually happen between them, but once it does she realizes that he's different and trouble for her with a capital T. Soon enough Jaxon starts breaking down her walls but with the fears she's had her whole life about being left and cheated on nothing comes easy for for them.
image
"Please stop running from me,"he whispered.
"Please stop trying to catch me,"she said getting up to leave.
image
This story was amazing. I absolutely adored Jaxon. He was was hot all around. I have a thing for tattoos, bad boys on bikes, and football players. He was all of the above. Not to mention he was so sweet, and had the most unbelievable amount of patience. I loved the fact that even when Em was being "hard to get along with" (taking all of those guys upstairs) and trying to push Jaxon away he was there to make sure she was alright even when it was killing him.
image
And Emerson, yeah, she's not your typical heroine, but come on she was quirky and spoke her mind. She wasn't ashamed of who she was either. I didn't 100% agree with everything she did, especially when it came to decisions related to Jax but she learned from her mistakes and owned them. And she never tried to be something that she wasn't.
"Tell me that you want me,"he whispered.
"I want you." Always.
"Only me?"
"Only you." Had there ever been anyone else?
image
This story also had amazing secondary characters. Quinn, Cole, and Jace. I loved these characters just as much as the primary characters, and I would give anything to be in their little click to hang out and watch movies or catch a frat party. Cole and Quinn are like the worlds best friends EVER!!! And then Jace, OMG he needs his own book. I want to know so much more about him. Hell, I want to know more about all of these characters. As much as I want Jace to have a book I feel like I need a little bit more from Jax and Emerson. What happens next, can everything just automatically be a HEA between them? I mean the guy in the end was preparing..."for a future" with her and I want know I need to read about it. Read this book, whatever you do it's amazing and will not leave you disappointed. :)
"I just met you and I'm amazed by you already.
You beauty has me blind to all others.
One day you'll let someone in and he'll be a lucky bastard.
One day you are going to discover how beautiful and strong you are.
I hope that I'm standing right next to you holding your hand when you do.
Codename: Romeo
Codename: Romeo - Kat Attalla Do whatever it takes. No apologies, no excuses.
So I really don't know how I feel about this book. I liked it, I just didn't love it. I think all of the scientist talk sort of put me off of it some. Not that I'm against scientists, it's not that, but all of the references to them having sex as a science experiment....I just don't know what made me sort of on the fence about it, I just was.
I had had this on my tbr list and in my kindle forever. I was in between reads and just decided now was the time to tackle it. It was sort of The Big Bang Theory meets Graceland.
Meet Erik
image
His errection throbbed against the juncture between her legs. "That's why I didn't want this assignment. Do you have any idea what it's like to walk around in this state for hours at a time?"
He's undercover on a case. All he is supposed to have to do is be at the airport when the carrier gets off the plane watch the exchange and then he has the transporter and his guy that he's been chasing for forever. Of course that plan falls through as the guy doesn't make the exchange and leaves. He can't believe his eyes at the carrier, not only is she sexy as hell, but the biggest klutz he has ever seen. Why would a criminal trust a woman like her...
Professor Victoria "Tori"
image
"Of all the conceited, testosterone-based carbon units I have met, and there have been quiet a few over the years, you take the cake."
The second Victoria lands she wonders why she didn't just stay in Mexico a few days longer instead of coming back to the freezing winter cold. Not only is it freezing, she's dropping everything and it's taken forever to get home, all she wants is to go to bed. So the last thing she needs is the water company coming bright and early the next day because of the pipes. However the guy that will be working on them is quiet the fine specimen and makes her feel things that she has no control over but would like to experience all the more.
image
image
Erik can't believe the way he reacts to Victoria, not only does he have to figure out what's going on with her, he finds himself wanting to spend more time with her too. The more time he spends with her the more he feels like he has the wrong girl, she can't be the transporter. When he finally figures out that he was right, it's too late, and she's in big danger now and he has to protect her. And now that she knows he's been lying to her he doesn't know how things are going to go down between them. It's probably for the best, but he can't help but feel disappointed about it.
image
I liked the storyline with this book. I loved as time went on, Victoria loosened up from her uptight science professor self to knowing exactly what she wanted and confident enough to make that clear. She was quirky, cool, and smart as hell. Zack was the complete opposite. He was known for being attractive, so much to the point, that his codename, ha, no surprises here was Romeo. He was handsome and knew it. He knew how he affected women and worked it to his advantage. However, when he met Victoria, everything slipped. He knew he wanted her, but his insane attraction to her made him lose all train of though. He couldn't resist her and had massive problems denying her, even when he could have cost him his job.
"There is something to be said for stamina over wisdom," she said wistfully.
"What does that mean?"
A grin tugged at her lips. "It's not the cerebral talents. It's the never-ending, mind-bending, incredible sex that draws me."
Like I said, I really liked it, just couldn't love it. I understood that she is a mad scientist, so to speak, she's overly intelligent and to the point she doesn't have a lot of social skills. It made her endearing, but sometimes all of the science talk just left me wanting more of something....I'm not sure what. Zack was likeable. He kind of went soft when he met Tori but I get it, he had been a hard ass for so long not letting anyone in. So when he met her, she changed him. I wonder how things will go on after the ending, it seemed sort of a HFN but overall, I'm not disappointed that I read it, it just wasn't exactly what I had expected...
