Conspiring (This, #2.5) - J.B. McGee WOW, WOW, WOW!!!

SO, I feel like I can't give many details about this edition as it could lead to spoilers on what's going on in the story. This book in the series gives evil Veronica and creeptastic Ian's POV's.

I must say getting in Veronica's head definitely made me feel a little sorry for her. I mean clearly Bradley has only ever seen her as a F. Buddy. But since this buddy system has been going on for over a year, Veronica has developed feelings for Bradley and has started to want more. However he only sees her as his Wed/Sat appointment. When it comes time for him to go to the wedding he meets Gabby at, she asks to come along, but he refuses and tell her he doesn't date, and doesn't want to have to answer questions from his family. This breaks Veronica's heart, leading her to decide he's probably hooking up with someone at the wedding so she will too, which in a crazy twist of fate ends up being IAN....

"Do you want to get a cab and go someplace where I can make love to you all night?"

I must say this installment was the first one to actually bring in more steam, and I LOVE IT!!! I liked getting in Ian's head as well. It made me not hate him quiet as much. I mean, he will never be with Gabby again, but I actually like him and Veronica together and....hope things work out. I will say again people, this series has me all kinds of hooked. With all of the twists and turns I'm hanging on every word....
Broken (This, #1) - J.B. McGee "Anything worth having is never simple or easy, Gabby."

Well, Fuck a duck, of course my most brilliant review ever, (wink wink) just got deleted. I've come back and re-wrote a brief review and then came back and added some pics and a quote, but my first review was so much better. I just can't make myself re-write the whole thing. LESSON LEARNED!! LOL.

Gabby
image

I found this book on Fb accidently a while back. I really had been looking forward to it and wasn't aware this series was so long. Before I get going good I want to say this now. I am not hating on this book and I am continuing the series. BUT, it wasn't what I was expecting.

Bradley
image

Bradley and Gabby meet at a wedding. In between them getting to know each other every other chapter goes back and forth from the present to the past of her summer before Junior year. Gabby is badly damaged emotionally. She has had a traumatic childhood and been heartbroken by her ex, Ian. She doesn't give Bradley the time of day and ends up giving him the truth of it and leaving the wedding. Months go by. While this is happening we are seeing the storyline of what happened between her and Ian in high school.

Ian
image

I admit, in the begining the story line between Ian and Gabby just made me bored. I sometimes wanted to skip it all together. But knew if I skipped something important I would be lost, so I stuck with it. What really drove me insane was Gabby's inner thoughts. I understand all the stuff in her past really sucked, I'm talking big time, and I get that she is Broken, hence the title of the book, BUT, OMG she said the same thing over and over about how she was not good enough, her friends were so much prettier, had so much more money, blah blah blah. I will straight up admit, I almost put the book down and decided I was done. She was making me so damn depressed with the way she thought.

image

I'm really glad I stuck it out though. In the end, she ended up actually talking to someone about everything that had gone down with her andddd, we got some revelations with what went down with Ian slim ball and that alone made me want to keep reading the series.

image

Once again, I actually really was proud of my other review and this one no where near compares, but this is cutting into my reading time so,...I'm out for now and maybe will edit more tomorrow when I'm not so frustrated that I lost it. :(
The Bite That Binds (Deep In Your Veins, #2) - Suzanne Wright "Since the first night I met you, you've had me messed up. You're my weakness-pure and simple. But you're also the only thing that I really couldn't live without."

Holy Wow Batman, I loved this storyline. It was different from anything I have been reading lately and kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time trying to figure all the suspense.

Jared
"That bloke is a walking, talking advertisement for sex."
image

"If you get hurt, I'll spank your pretty little ass and strap you to the bed when we get home."

The story picks up right after the second book finishes. Jared and Sam are preparing for their binding ceremony. Neither party has doubts in binding with the other, they both just seem to be worried the other will back out. On top of that, Sam is having weird dreams at night. Jared is worried about them and finally makes her talk to Antonio and Luther about them. When Luther has a vision that shows trouble he knows that if he doesn't make them go on with their plans to figure out the dreams it could change the future. But it seems one thing after another keeps coming up for Sam and Jared. Another mission needs to be checked into, the trouble with Sam's dreams that ends up being so much deeper, a bitch of an ex shows up trying to cause problems, plus Sam has to impress all of the high masters before the ceremony.

Sam
image

"If we shag any more than we already do, there's a chance your d!ck will fall off."

I loved all of the suspense in the book. There were so many things coming down on Jared and Sam. With the crazy ex and her mind games, to the crazy brothers and their....meddling, Ricardo, Marcia, and others doubting Sam, and then that storyline with Jude. I know, I know, if you haven't read the books you have no idea what I'm talking about, but believe me, this story was worth a read to me. There is mystery and romance, plus two very strong lead characters. They worked through everything together and if at some point Sam wouldn't listen Jared would just threaten to tie her to the bed and...f@ck her until she agreed. Which wasn't much of a punishment, but it worked all the same. AND WAS HOTTER THAN HOT!!

image

"Feel how perfectly your body fits to mine. You were made to take me, Sam. Tell me you're mine, and I'll give you what you want."

Again, all the same awesome secondary characters were there. Fletcher and his awesomeness and Evan. (I want EVAN's STORY!!) Antonio and Luther. Plus the incredible team full of badasses who are amazing and have all of those ridiculously cool gifts. I love how that group of badass men respect Sam but still give her a hard time. Not to mention the addition of Wes and of course Dexter.

Dexter
image

I still stick with my guns when I say that, even though this book ties up nicely, I am hopeful there will be more to the series. It is so good, and I like this book even more than the first. Where the first book everyone knew where the danger was coming from and when, this book had way more mystery, combined with Jared and Sam working together instead of against each other and having way more sex. And since they are vampires, you know the sex they have is scorchingly HOT!!!! Jared was way overprotective of Sam in this book, which annoyed Sam, but he totally had his reasons and it made him even more swoon worthy. And of course Sam was still her same badass, outspoken, snarky self that I just loved.

A little different but the same idea, and I love it!!

Here Be Sexist Vampires (Deep In Your Veins, #1) - Suzanne Wright image

So,... I hadn't read a vampire book in a while now. I have been wanting to read this for a while, but it seemed something else always caught my attention and I kept putting this one on my back burner. WoW, I'm not sure if it was a mistake that I had put it off and was mad at myself for it or awesome, because I got to read it now. I was hooked from like the first page and had problems putting it down, and then when real life got in the way I found myself thinking about it.

Meet Jared...I couldn't get this image out of my head while Reading this story.
image

"All right. I don't want anyone kissing you, or touching you, the way that I do. Is that really that bad?"

He is a commander and heir of Antonio, the Grand High Master, which is the vampire of all vampires. He doesn't do relationships but has himself three consorts and is known to get around....a lot. He is completely happy with his life until he meets Sam, and suddenly everything changes.

image

"I earned a spot. And you know it. I suppose whipping you into place didn't do anything for my chances, seeing as you obviously have an ego as swollen as a horse's rigid d!ck."

Sam was changed three years ago, and since has not had the easiest life. But when an opportunity presents itself she decides now is her chance to change her life. She goes to try out to be a part of the legion protecting Antonio, and completely proves herself, but as being a woman often presents its challenges, she finds out that men can be completely sexist and unfair. But Antonio has other ideas, ideas that leave Jared scrambling. He doesn't think he needs anything from Sam, but soon is proven wrong. The thing is Jared and Sam want each other, even though they hate each other soon Jared starts being very upfront about it, but Sam's past makes it quiet a challenge to give in to him.

image

This story was so good. The sexual tension is this book was through the roof. Sam and Jared wanted each other from the very begining, but at first neither would admit it to themselves, but soon either could deny it. I loved these two together. It took them a little while to finally give in but when they did, wow!!! Plus there was lots of suspense and I loved watching Jared get over his insecurities and admit he and the legion needed Sam. SAM, was an amazing character. She was so strong and brave and powerful. Men really did underestimate her and I loved watching her prove them wrong at every turn.

image

Plus there were some major secondary characters in this book to love. Evan, Jared's twin brother was amazing, the little of him we got, but unless there is more in the next book, I would love to get his story. He just seemed so sweet. And Fletcher, can I have me a gay bff like him? He was amazing and I loved his gift. But mainly he was so supportive of Sam. Of course Antonio, Luther and Sebastian were almost like father figures and the legion of guys that ended up respecting Sam so much but at the same time were like a group of buds that I would love to hang with at a bar. I just Can't wait for the next book in this series. :)

Steel and Lace: The Complete Series - Adriane Leigh image

Okay, Okay, I sorta feel bad for ever putting a negative status update out there about this book. YES, especially in the begining, there were massive similarities to this book and FSOG, Bared to You, and even This Man. It was like some major smashed together version of Deja vu. I normally don't really mind similarities and wouldn't even mention it, but geez there were a lot, and I feel it's worth mentioning so people are prepared for it. It sorta made me unable to get into the story for a while. But then somewhere things stopped being so similar and I really, really got wrapped in. Yes, there were still some similarities but I still liked it.

Meet Carter Morgan...
image

"I love you, even if you are the most stubborn woman on earth. I can't help but love you."

Billionaire CEO. He's sexy as all hell. Always has a model on his arm, has homes in Aspen, NYC, and Boston. He's used to getting what he wants and isn't used to getting told no. At a charity event he meets Evangeline Austin.

image
"I want to Carter. I want to survive it. Please, let's survive it. Tell me you still want to. I just...I don't think I can live without you."

She had just moved to Boston with her best friend Cate when she met Carter. She is a fashion blogger and really comfortable with her independence, so when Carter starts making his move on her, she isn't so easy to give in. But they have an unexplainable pull that neither can resist so only a few days after meeting, Eva gives in and goes to an event with Carter and then ends up going home with him. mmmhmmmm...

image

image

Carter has instantly decided that Eva is the one for him, but convincing her is the hard part. At every turn Eva's insecurity makes itself known as Carter's past seems to show up. The strong pull they have between each other makes them crazy for each other. They go up and down. From being insanely in love, having sex in all sorts of places, to driving each other crazy and having angry sex in all sorts of places. We're talking public restroom, coat closets, up against office windows, hoods of cars, these two are insatiable, and that's only a few of the places. But the strong pull leads them to make a huge rash decision that seems wonderful at first, but ends up being a struggle they have to fight together.

image

"I'm so lucky. I'll never forget how lucky I am to have you, Evangeline. Not for a single day of my life."

image

Since this is a short story series, I feel that is really all I can say without spoiling. I really liked this series. Yes, as I have mentioned there are similarities with other books out there, but it also has its own punch too. The sex between these two was scorching hot and I loved Carter. He was over the top alpha, controlling, possessive, and sometimes overreacted to situations, but I loved him and all his craziness all the same. Eva was the same way. Sometimes I wanted to grab her and shake her. Sometimes she could be completely mature and rational and then others I would be like, "WTH??" LOL, but in the end, they were indeed perfect for each other. I definitely recommend the read, especially for people who love the series I mentioned above, just be prepared for the deja vu moments. :)

image

And here's the first chapter from Carter's POV. Enjoy!!

Golden Trail (The 'Burg, #3) - Kristen Ashley OMG,... Oh. My. GAWWWDDDD. I freakin' loved this book. Like LOVED IT!!!! I wish I could give it more stars.

"Somethin' means the world to you, you think one day you'll lose it, you got tow choices. You cut yourself off from it so, when you lose it, that don't destroy you or hold it so close, it can't ever go away but, if it does, you got as many precious memories as you can bag. Thinkin' about your girl, do either of those sound familiar?"

Tanner Layne
image

"How many time do I have to tell you, sweetcheeks? I remember everything."

So, I'm kinda sorta at a loss for words here. I loved this book so much that I just can't put it into words. Kristen Ashley is genius once again, that I do know.

This story starts out with Layne and Rocky having an awkward conversation after years of separation. They had been madly in love 18 years prior, but for reasons Layne doesn't know she left, without a word. Despite his efforts, he lost her and in turn and not completely on purpose, started a different life without her. Now, laying in a hospital bed with three bullet wholes, he is wondering why she has showed up of a sudden.

Rocky
image

"I was a child, and she was a child, in this kingdom by the sea; but we loved with a love that was more than a love~I and my Annabelle Lee."

Rocky also moved on. She's married to a wealthy doctor, teaches high school English lit, and lives in the rich part of town. Layne doesn't understand why all of a sudden she starts coming around but when invited over for a dinner and having a discussion with Rocky's brother, Layne decides he has to protect Rocky, mostly from herself, but also the trouble she has decided to put herself into. Layne and Rocky come to a deal, they pretend to be together in order to catch a dirty cop. Layne has already been on this case, but Rocky has become determined because her mother was murdered when she was fourteen, her brother and father are cops and she wants to take him down. But the longer Layne and Rocky pretend to be together, the more Layne is determined it goes from pretending to being real.

Jasper
image

"It's good she hooked up with me, she's such a nut, she needs a badass to take her back."

So, I loved everything about this book. Ohmigod, the characters. Layne for sure and I loved getting the whole book in his POV. His kids, Jasper and Tripp are like my favorite New book kids, LOL!!! The more Layne and his boys grew closer and closer, the more they kicked ass. And then Rocky, I really wanted to hold a grudge against her. It drove me crazy not knowing for so long why she had up and left Layne. And a few times she threw a hissy and I was like, wait you did leave him, he has the right to have up a guard, but in the end I came around and ended up letting my grudge go. And then, getting to see more into Cal and Vi, and Colt and Feb. I really just could go on and on and on, but I really won't say a whole lot more except over and over how much I loved everything about this book. Btw, this series always makes me want to go to one of their back yard BBQ's and pop the top off my Budlight and get in on all the gossip.

Tripp & Blondie
image

"Giselle Speakmon’s parents are totally devout. When I get in there and we hook up, there won’t be any cribs for me either, Dad, because I reckon they’ll make me wear one of those chastity belts, knowin’ Jas is my brother and all.”

I don't want to spoil ANYTHING, about this book, because I don't want to ruin the read for anyone else, but definitely go read this. There was romance, friendship, suspense that tied into a storyline that drew me in and kept me guessing at every turn, hot sexy times, awesome characters, but mostly just plain ole simple KA awesomeness!!! I can't wait for more. :)

“Any battle worth winnin’ is worth using every weapon available.”
Falling For Nick - Joleen James 3.5 Stars
This really was an intense read. Mainly because the whole book the characters kept hinting that there was more to the story that happened 10 years ago, and I kept waiting to find out what it was. But for other reasons as well.

"How can you love him and kiss me like that?"

Nick
image

Ten years ago Robert and Clea and were an item. But when he left town, Clea fell for the town bad boy Nick and started dating him. Nothing is revealed until the end, but the night Clea lost her virginity to Nick an accident happened, leaving Nick going to prison for ten years and Robert's brother Danny dead. Soon after Clea found out she was pregnant, but Nick told her, when she visited him in prison, he wanted nothing to do with her or her baby. This left Clea heartbroken and extremely confused.

"No one sets me on fire like you do, Nick, but I have to marry Robert."

Clea
image

Now Nick's back, but Clea is engaged to Robert and is about to move to NYC for her career. Nick is determined to get Clea back and meet his son he has always wanted. Robert and Clea's mom are determined to keep them apart but little by little Clea starts letting Nick back in and encourages him to get to know his son. John isn't exactly all about Nick at first, but eventually he starts to warm to him.

John
image
baby John, I couldn't resist, this baby is gorgeous and matched Baby John's description perfect. I had to put him on. :) Nick's mini me.
image

There were things I really liked about this book and others that could have been improved a little. Mainly Nick, I LOVED HIM. I hated that he had to go to prison over what happened. I loved the twist in the end. I never saw that coming. Like, I suspected that one little surprise with Robert, more or less, but that last twist, whoa. Actually I knew something was up with the senator, every time he was mentioned I could tell something was up with him, but NOT what actually happened with him. The things I didn't like was sometimes, the story lulled a little bit. I also wish we could have had the whole conversation between Nick and Clea when she came to him while in prison. This isn't a huge deal, but it's a major part of their history and I kept wondering what all he said to her to push her away that hurt her so bad, and his thoughts after she was gone. But the major thing I was disappointed in was the ending. I wish there would have been an epilogue. It just sort of ended, and with the way things ended it left me wondering how it all worked out.

Robert
image

I feel like the story left a wide open opportunity for Billy's story. That would be cool and then maybe we could get a little more of Nick, Clea, and John. I do recommend the story. It was a nice read with intense moments. I was rooting for Nick the whole time, after all he had been through he deserved his own piece of happiness.

"I want you to remember how it was between us ten years ago. Remember the fire between us, the almost desperate hunger we felt for each other? Those feelings aren't dead, Princess. Like me, they've just been locked up. It's time to set them free."

image
Rules of Entanglement (Fighting for Love, #2) - Gina L. Maxwell "Never indulge in the poison of lies."

This book was so damn good. Matter of fact, I'm head over heals in love with this whole series. I can NOT wait for the next installment.

Jackson
image

"Do you have any idea what you do to me? Every time I look at you, I f*cking lose my mind."

The story begins with Vanessa arriving in Hawaii to help Lucie with her and Reid's wedding. Lucie can't be there due to illness so it's up to Vanessa to plan the whole thing. Problem is her ride is an hour late and she can't get him on his cell to even find out where he is. In walks Jackson, lol. Instantly, Jackson and Vanessa hit it off all wrong, to the point Vanessa takes a cab instead of the ride standing right in front of her. Jackson, however, is intrigued with Vanessa and decides she isn't getting off so easy. So, he comes up with a way to spend more time with her, he makes up a lie that forces them to spend more time together.

Vanessa
image

"You can spank me if I get to shave your balls with a straight razor."

Vanessa and Jackson both have secrets. And Vanessa has built up walls around herself in the form of Rules to protect herself from ever falling for the wrong guy, or that's what she thinks she was doing. The attraction between the two is so strong neither can deny it. So Vanessa gives in and makes a deal with Jackson. Have a fling, but there are rules, one of them being it can only last three days and after the fling they never mention it again and only remain friends. As time passes and her and Jackson gets closer she starts to understand herself better and her walls start to crumble. The two of them confess there secrets to one another and completely start to fall for the other, and both are even wanting to see if what they have can last longer, maybe even forever. But like all lies they eventually come out, and in this situation it has the ability to ruin everything.

image

This story was amazing. I loved both characters so much. Jackson was fun and flirty, but also can be soft and tender. He seems like a really fun guy to be around, but he has two places in his life where he has to be in control, that is in the fighting ring and in the bedroom. And believe me, he can have all the control he wants there. Vanessa was a very likeable heroine. She's strong, confident and sassy. She doesn't take crap from anyone but knows when the right time presents itself she shows her more hidden tender side too.

"They're small with soft, vulnerable underbellies, so the tops are tough with tiny spines that protect from predators. And if that isn't enough, they're able to drop one of their arms-literally leave a piece of them behind-so they can escape. It takes a long time, but eventually they grow a new arm to replace the one they lost."

image

I totally recommend this book and series. It was an amazing read with flirty conversations, a very romantic HEA for Reid and Lucie from the first book, (btw I loved being able to be there for their wedding), heartbreak, touching backstories, a whole slew of breakable and unbreakable rules, and scorching scenes between Vanessa and Jax. Between body shots, jet ski adventures and a glorious waterfall scene these two couldn't keep their hands off one another. Go, GO,...Don't wait, go pick this one up, it's a must read. :)
Outlaw - Nicole James
"This is where I belong. This is where I've always belonged."

Cole
image

"I love you. I'm not giving up on you. I knew the minute I first saw those eyes of yours that I was in over my head.

Angel
image

AHH, this book had me hooked from the very begining. It starts with Cole visiting with Wyatt about what appeared to me as "Biker Politics". One club is going to patch over the other brother club. Cole and Wyatt look up to see Chuck dragging a girl behind him handcuffed. Something clicks in Cole when he sees her and he's determined to help her. Angel is terrified. She's been kidnapped, sold, beat, raped, and the next thing she knows is she's being traded to Cole over an unpaid debt. She struggles to trust Cole, but eventually realizes he actually is helping her. They strike up a deal, he gets revenge on her abductors for her and she won't tell anyone what happened to her. But as time goes on they both realize they have feelings for each other. Both decide they want to see if they can make it work but a huge betrayal/misunderstanding separates them leaving them both thinking the other left. Years go by until they see each other again, but when they do that same pull is still there between them, the problem is they both are different people now with different lives.

image

"Nine days. That's how long it took for you to get your hooks in me, babe. And they were in deep. So deep I couldn't get free if I tried. And I tried. I did try. You were mine, Angel. But I was yours, too."

I loved the first half of this book, loved loved loved it. The second half I really liked just not as much as the first half. Don't get me wrong, Cole drops everything for Angel when she needs him most and I loved him for it, I just missed the excitement and danger the first part of the book had. I guess since I'm talking about negative things I also felt like a few ties weren't completely tied. Nothing huge, just whatever happened to the other club, did they end up getting re-patched and my major thing that got skipped over was some sort of confrontation with MACK!!! He completely betrayed Cole and Angel and neither one of them ever said anything to him about it. It was mentioned between him and Natalie but I sorta thought with the way Cole was in the first half of the book with Angel, once he found out what had happened with Mack he at least would have hadi a conversation about it. I mean because of Mack's betrayal Angel and Cole spent three years apart and he missed out on even knowing he had kids. Mack got off wayy to easy on this and it sorta ticked me off.

image

"Some news, a man gets from his woman, it's a moment in life. We havin' a moment?"

I definitely recommend this book. I had seen mixed reviews on it, some even DNF which left me a little nervous, but I really liked it. Cole and Angel were so good together. I loved how protective he was for her and just how much he was willing to do for her. I hated the three years apart thing, I was shocked when I got to that chapter and it said three years later. haha, I messaged my fellow buddy readers with a WTF message, lol. I've seen where there is a possibility for more from this biker club and I would love for Crash and Kilt boy to get their own story. :)

The Millionaire's Games (The Full Series)

The Millionaire's Games (The Full Series) - Helen Cooper "You made me believe in true love. In the purity of a woman's heart and soul. I never thought that there were soul mates before I met you."

What a twisted book this was, lol. I sorta have trouble putting my reaction in words but I'll try.
Ben
image

"Your are a first class fool, Louise; trust me, no good will come of this."

The book starts out with Louise out on a date with Ben. He's convincing her to come to his family home for the weekend to meet his family. Louise is hesitant because she is bored with Ben and wants to break up with him, but there are situations that I have prevented her from growing a pair and just getting over with it. They are out on a date and she asks to go to the movies and since it wasn't a movie he wanted to see he gives her $20 and leaves her on her own to see it, and this isn't the first time he has pulled this act. THAT RIGHT THERE WAS HER TIME TO DUMP THE JERK, but she doesn't. Anyhow, when picked up by the limo to go for their weekend trip Louise is instantly drawn to Ben's brother David. She wonders how she ended up with the boring brother when clearly her and David share some spark. But nothing compares to the spark she has when she meets Richard, Ben's oldest brother, except its not the same kind of spark she has for David. Sure he's hot just like his brothers but he's annoying, arrogant, and says horrible things to her. But he gives her the excuse and the courage to dump Ben. This leaves her in the clear to explore her spark with David, except she goes to the wrong room. I want to tell so much more, but this being a short story I would give too much away and it would spoil it.
David
image

"So Louise, may I touch your hair? It looks soft. It's beautiful and long enough to pull on during sex."

Louise goes through the weekend being constantly hit on by brothers. Sometimes I was screaming at her to get out of there. She loses one job, gains another, makes a deal, has lots and lots of sex, and gets her heart broken more than once. This book was extremely hot, just sometimes she got so wrapped up in looks and all of her dignity flew out the door. This was three short stories combined into one longer story. I definitely recommend it as an in between book for someone looking for one steamy story. Lots of angst, steamy scenes and at times you will want to scream at either Louise for allowing herself to be done the way she was, or at the brothers for being jerks.
Richard
image

"Most gold diggers try and keep a skinnier figure than you do. I applaud you for breaking out of the mold."

But as many stories go, there's always more to the story and once you realize the truth some people come shine in a different light.

Wicked Cravings (The Phoenix Pack, #2) - Suzanne Wright "Sometimes people need to have something moved from their reach before they realize how much they want it."

LOVED, LOVED, LOVED THIS BOOK

Dante
image

"Nothing and no one will keep me out of your life, Jaime. Not even you."

This book was just as good as the first in the series. It picks up I assume a month or two after Feral Sins. Jaime and her brother Gabe came to the pack in the place of Selma and Kirk. Jaime has always been hopelessly attracted to Dante. Even as a kid she followed him around relentlessly. He would protect her from bullies and such but other than that he never paid the attention to her like she wanted. Since coming to the pack she has upped her advances on him, but he still seems to just ignore her. Hurt by a conversation she wasn't supposed to hear she decides that she is done with Dante. She isn't going to embarrass herself in front of him any longer.

Jaime
image

The moment Dante realizes Jaime has lost all interest in him, he realizes he doesn't like it. Curious to find out what has changed her he starts to question her and even follow her. He is overcome with jealousy when he sees her out with another guy but Jaime just pushes him away further. The thing is, Jaime is holding back a secret and Dante is determined to find out what it is. Eventually Jaime's secret comes out accidently when being pushed too far, and Dante is there to witness it and also pick up the pieces.

"You're mine now, Jaime. Not just for one night. When I say you're mine, I mean you're mine. But see here's the thing. Now you have to deal with me and I'm not easy to deal with."

Dante and Jaime have always had a pull toward each other, even if Dante hasn't ever admitted it to her, but once they start training together the pull becomes stronger and both decide they would rather be together forever and will even give up their true mates for each other, if necessary. Of course it's not always easy, to start with the pack isn't entirely comfortable with Jaime being there once her secret comes out. Not to mention there are people out to get Dante and once it becomes obvious Jaime is with Dante they are after her too. And Dante has secrets too, not as big as Jaime's but big enough they could tear Jaime and Dante apart.

image

I loved getting more of the pack, especially Taryn and Trey. Jaime is a lot like Taryn with her sarcasm and independence. While Dante reminds me a lot of Trey with his over possessiveness and tendency to try to control everything and everyone. But for me that just gave the story some quirky lines and drew me in more. I loved this line/scene in particular...

"You know what I don't understand? Why they sing 'Twinkle, twinkle little star, how I wonder what you are.' Why do they wonder? They already know what it is-they answered their own question before they even asked it."

There were a few things in the end I was a little disappointed in. To keep this spoiler free, I will just say that one particular person, deserved by far a bigger punishment than they got and that really ticked me off. I couldn't really see Trey or Dante's character letting this person get off that easy and I think Jaime should have at least got some say in her punishment too. I know they weren't part of this pack but they put plenty of this pack in a....situation.

I definitely recommend this book. It has some hot smoking scenes, suspense and a big 'ole HEA!! To get the whole story read Feral Sins first because this will have some major spoilers if you try to read this one first. I can NOT wait for more from this series. I read this as a buddy read with my smutateers and we discussed the possiblity of the next story being Shaya and Nick's or if that will be a spin off. It has been sit up really nice but seeing that this series is the Phoenix Pack we weren't sure what would come next. Whatever it may be I'm completely stoked for it and waiting somewhat patiently for a release date. :)

BTW, I accidently found this famous couch everyone is always talking about in these books.

Light Me Up (Ross Siblings, #3.5) - Cherrie Lynn ahhh, I never get enough of Brian and Candace. I just saw this short story the other day and knew I needed to fit it in ASAP!! It was such a great addition to Brian and Candace's story. I loved it.

"Me and you?" he said, giving the first line of their favorite motto. "Against the world," she finished. Always.
Seducing Cinderella (Fighting for Love, #1) - Gina L. Maxwell Seduction isn't about actions. It's about control. I can make you do all the work-have you undress me, do a strip tease, even have you on your knees in front of me- and as long as I'm the one controlling the situation, you're actually the one being seduced."
Reid...
image

"You're sexy as hell, Lucie, and I want to unwrap you to get to the decadent prize underneath. I want to learn you likes, your dislikes-to know you fears and your dreams-and I vow to peel back each beautiful layer until I discover everything about you."

Lucie..
image

This story was so good. It all begins when Lucie is working and her long time crush comes knocking on her office door. Lucie has been madly in love with Stephan for a long time and the way he's acting he's finally come around to ask her out. Just when she gets her hopes up the big dumb jerk asks for her best friends number. Caught off guard Lucie gives it and when he leaves she is left crushed. And just her luck her next patient shows up while she is having her crying jag.

image

Reid is pissed off, basically. He has an injury that has to be fixed in time for his championship fight. He is not pleased about being sent away from Vegas from therapy but when he realizes it's his best friends sister who will be doing his therapy, he puts his issues aside. After catching up Reid talks Lucie into an agreement. He will help her seduce the guy he walked in on her crying about if she will take vacation time and work on him as often as needed to get him back for his fight. At first this seems the perfect plan, but soon enough both sides start to have feelings for the other. Reid talks Lucie into getting a little "deeper" with seduction lessons, but then realizes he may not have made that proposition only because he felt she needed those lessons. Both start to fall harder and harder for the other but in the end Reid has a fight to go win and he's only helping Lucie out so she can get her guy, right??

"This is a sparrow. Unlike most birds, when a sparrow finds its soul mate, they stay together until the end of their life. Making them the symbol for finding one's true love."

image

I really like these two together, but both had confidence issues. Lucie thinks she's plain and boring because of the way a past relationship ended. It's left her scarred in a big way, and even though I could understand her thoughts on this for a little bit, it got a little annoying considering the amount of guys hitting on her, namely her 2 crushes. And then when Reid gave her his gift and she brought up Dr. McDouchebag, grrr, that made me mad at her. Reid has plenty of confidence, but his parents, mainly his dad, had ran him in the ground so much growing up, he constantly felt unworthy of Lucie. I could deal with his issues more because he also worried about how Lucie would deal with being in his way of life. But the way he treated her at one point was really heartbreaking and had I not had his POV too, I would have been pissed.

image

Those are things that got on my nerves but didn't keep me from liking the book. I would have liked a little more interraction with Lucie's brother. I figured there was going to be a storm when he found out about Reid and Lucie, but that never happened. OF course this was a short story so that explains why. I thought Reid and Lucy were HOT HOT between the sheets, and I loved all of his seduction lessons. And Vanessa was a awesome best friend to Lucie and I can't wait to read her story. :) Overall a really good read especially if your needing something quick and steamy. :)

Picture Perfect - Ella Fox "I've been waiting on you forever sweetness, but you're more than worth the wait."

Meet My Flynn Rand...
image

I love a good Ella Fox book, and this one was no different. So I started this book a week or so ago in between buddy reads. I didn't realize until I had started it that I was supposed to buddy read it as well. So, I had only gotten about 6% in, but was already hooked, so me and my girls went ahead and squeezed it on in, and I'm so happy we did. Actually Vika and I got together today and made a Family Tree for the whole family. :)

"I was so f*cking lonely before you baby, but now I understand that my soul always knew you were out there. I love you more than life itself."

The story begins with Flynn waking up disoriented. There's 3 naked women in his bed, 7 condoms on the floor, he feels like his cock has went 20 rounds with a bull, he's not sure what city he's in and to add to all of that he's hungover and due to play a concert in a few hours. He's tired of this life he's living and ready to settle down. The rock star life has been everything he wanted it to be but now he just wants out and to live normal. That night he's prepared that the concert he gives is going to be crap and he honestly just doesn't care. But then a girl in the front row with chocolate brown eyes inspires him to play a good concert for her and change his ways. Though that doesn't stop him from getting massively drunk that night and forgetting the reason for his sudden change of ways, all he knows is the next morning he has a new nickname and he wants to change.

Tessa Hamilton...
image

Tessa has been a fan of the Renegade Saints for as long as she can remember. The night that Flynn Rand stood on stage and sang directly to her for three hours is a night that she has never forgot. That night changed her as well. She has since been so hung up on Flynn that she compares every guy she dates to him, which leave them all appearing to be less than stellar. Little did she know Flynn was about to make her the offer of a lifetime.

image

Flynn and the guys have decided to do a goodbye tour. They hire a band to open up with who will later be signed under their new label. That's where Tess and Flynn's paths cross again. Automatically when Flynn sees the pictures Tessa has done he realizes they are awesome and they should hire her to be their tour photographer, but looking at the photographer herself he feels this familiarity to her so strong he can't stop thinking about it. And he can't wait to meet her in person.

When these two meet they both instantly feel a huge attraction to each other. A pull that neither one had ever felt before. Flynn knew instantly that she was the one. But Tessa wasn't so optimistic on that feeling. I loved how both wanted the other to know that they weren't what the other was used to. Tessa didn't want Flynn to look at her like she was just another Groupie, while at the same time Flynn didn't want Tessa to feel like he thought that was what she was. I loved how Flynn confided in his dad and how close their relationship was. Not to mention the lengths Flynn went to, to prove to Tessa that she was different.

"I promise you that I'm not trying to fuck and run, Tess, but YOU aren't sure of that yet. You also don't fully know that you can trust me. I know that I have to earn that trust. This isn't a fling so it's not something that I have any experience with, to be honest. You're different, sweetness. For you, I want everything to be just right."

image

I absolutely adored these two together. They were 100% open and honest with each other about most everything. And that proved to be the best part of their relationship seeing that when they did hold back or put up walls they would instantly drift. Once they made the decision to be together they were insatiable. AND IT WAS HOT HOT HOT. Ms. Fox knows how to write some hot scenes and at this point I have read all of her Hart books and these scenes were scorchers in this book. KUDOS, MS. FOX, KUDOS!!

image

"There are a thousnad things we're going to do to and with each other babe, and I'm looking forward to every one of them."

I also loved how this series ties in with the Hart family series. I have loved that series and get a cameo of that family in this book was amazing. I knew it was a spinoff but it didn't change the fact that I loved seeing them tied in with Flynn and his family. Speaking of Flynn's family, OMG I loved his gram and her hilarious bluntness and of course her twitter account.

(a text from Flynn to his dad about Gram)
She scares me with that Twitter account. Last week she put up a pic of me naked in the bathtub when I was a baby. #myprecious I swear to god I choked when I saw it. All the gossip sites copied the pic too.
HILARIOUS!!

image

I'm not going to deny, that this book is about a rock star and his band and their retirement. To me, there wasn't a whole lot about that in the book. The first half of the book was all about preparing to go on the road and I was really looking forward to reading about some of that and it was sorta just skipped over and that was a little disappointing. And sometimes Flynn was a little over the top with how fast he was falling for her and making plans, but being in his POV really helped with that and seeing how strongly he felt for her. He had found his happily ever after and was just ready to start it, which was really sweet. Just would be sorta overwelming if in Tessa's shoes. :) There were also a few editing issues, but nothing that was a huge thing I couldn't overlook.

I look forward to the next book which is supposed to be Cole's book. I'm certain it will be HOT HOT, but honestly I can't wait to read about Gavin and Tyson, because they seem like hard shells to crack and I love reading stories about guys like that. I recommend reading the Hart series before you jump into this one, only because the two tie together and without the first you may get a little confused, but none the less, I definitely recommend this book. :)
Willing Victim - Cara McKenna *HOT READ*HOT READ*

WOW, this was a hot little story!!

Laurel is sitting on a bench one day trying to get some reading done. A couple right down the way keep arguing keeping her from getting into her book. (Don't ya hate interruptions when you're trying to read?) Just when she is about to call the cops to report the disturbance, a man walks up and forces them to stop. Instantly, Laurel is intrigued by the stranger, so much that she catches up with him, offers to get his lunch and then even asks him out on a date. Flynn thinks he's not her type so tries to discourage her but Laurel isn't having that and agrees to meet him at a location of Flynn's choice. Laurel's career is sorta in the crapper, her life has taken a complete different direction than she expected so she is determined to see what Flynn is about, no matter what.

image

Flynn actually isn't your typical guy. He's a construction worker by day, boxer by night, with a sexual appetite to boot. When she discovers what Flynn's night "job" is, she is even more intrigued, When she catches him kissing another woman she is afraid she has read Flynn all wrong. But the woman explains a few things about her and Flynn's relationship and invites Laurel back to watch Flynn and Pam in action to decide if she still wants in on this deal. Laurel can't believe herself when she actually goes, but what she sees she can't deny that she likes and she wants to experience with Flynn 100%.

image

This book was so hot. Everything Flynn does is sexy. The way he speaks, the things he says, and even his story. I actually really liked Laurel's character. She did a few things I would never be bold enough to do, mainly, to me, Flynn seemed standoffish, he warned he doesn't do the boyfriend thing and Laurel sorta just squirmed in there anyway. It was really sweet the things she did for him and I loved how he was open for her to go ahead and let her do those sweet things for him. I would have loved to have a little more in the end, just because I felt the story got to a good place for them and it leaves you hanging wondering where they will go from there. This really isn't a huge deal, I always want a little more to every story, I just really liked where this story was headed in the end.

image

Overall this story was about 2 people who have lived hard lives and have a certain preferences. Flynn doesn't think there is anyone out there that could possibly understand him so he keeps people at a distance. Laurel's life has never been easy, but with her derailment she is trying to find her way. It was a really good read, and perfect to fit in between longer novels.

Real - Katy Evans "Ladies and gentlemen, and nooowww the moment you've all been waiting for. The baddest of the bad, I give you, the one, the only, Remington 'Riptide' Tate!"

image
image

This book was so amazing! I'm really having trouble explaining how I feel about Remington. He definitely has worked himself into my heart and I can't wait for more of his story. Within 2% of the book I was addicted.

The story begins with Brooke being drug to a fight by her best friend Melanie to check out Melanie's recent crush. Brooke has just finished school and is focused on her career. The last thing she wants is a relationship at the moment. But then Remington steps out in the ring. He is the sexiest man she has ever laid her eyes on. He makes her feel things she has never felt so she bolts. But before she can get away Remington catches up with her. Let me just say the way he chased her out of that room, I was a puddle of mush.

He steps forward, and his damp hand slides into the nape of my neck. My pulse skitters as he lowers his dark head to set a small, dry kiss on my lips. It feels like he's marking me. Like he's preparing me for something monumental. That could both change and ruin my life. "Brooke," he growls softly, meaningfully, against my lips, as he draws back with a smile. "I'm Remington."

"Not my screw-up. My real."

The next day Brooke receives tickets for another fight to see Remington. She starts talking herself into having a one night stand with him, because let's face it, she wants him. Hell, every woman wants him, myself included. But he's not having any of that, actually he offers her a different deal all together, and next thing Brooke knows she's on the road with him.

I loved all the music in this book. I'm a massive lyric girl. So, all the music exchanges in the book were amazing to me. Brooke and Remy weren't just sharing music lyrics though, it was like their own private conversations.

When reading this book, be prepared. Cold showers, panty changes, or other forms of...stress relievers may be needed. We're talking sexual frustration here. Don't get me wrong, these two were HOT. It just seemed something or someone just kept getting in the way. Hell, Remingtom himself got in the way, BUT, he had his own reasons. Reasons that made perfect since once they came out. Not that it made the sexual tension any easier to read. Of course they had a connection that was out of this world. No other words for it except they are Soul-Mates.

"When I take you, you'll be mine. You need to be certain. I want you to know me first, and then, I want you to let me know if you still want me to take you."

image

I loved how protective Remington was of Brooke, it was sexy as hell. But I also loved how protective Brooke became of Remington. No matter what she had lost in the past, it didn't compare to what she gained with Remington. I don't how many times I can say how excited I am for more from Katy Evans. This is her debut novel and it was amazing. My heart hurt for Remington's story. And the relationship him and Brooke share is nothing but beautiful. Stop what ever your reading and read this. This book had been lighting up my feed. The updates had me drooling so my smut-ateers and I decided to bump this one up our list and dive in. I was not disappointed.

"You're mine now. I won't let anyone else have you. I like me when I see myself through you, Brooke."
